Why Doggie Daycare?

Dogs are pack animals. We believe they are at their happiest when they are socializing with other dogs. Boredom and excess energy lead to destructive behaviors such as chewing, licking, digging and barking. Each daycare experience at Playful Pups Retreat includes social interaction, mental stimulation, play, daily naps and quiet time. Playing and socializing will make your dog a happier and better behaved pet. 

Watching our pack of pups play is fun and exciting for all of the staff. We are passionate about having a “playground” filled with fun-loving, friendly and good-hearted dogs.

Safety Is a Priority!

Since we care for so many dogs our number one objective is the safety and happiness of our dog guests. All potential Daycare guests must go through an interview and behavior assessment before they can be enrolled. We only allow dogs into our Daycare that are non-aggressive toward other dogs. Please read our enrollment requirements page for more information about setting up your interview.

And, even though we provide a safe environment for your pup, we you to please understand that, just like kids on a playground, dogs can play hard and with a lot of energy. There is always a possibility of receiving some scratches and scrapes. At Playful Pups Retreat, we allow the dogs to be just that: DOGS!

We offer a variety of Daycare Pack Member packages and “Extra TLC” services (see below).

While it is not mandatory that your pup attend our daycare a minimum amount of times per week, we do strongly recommend that you consider maintaining a regular daycare schedule. Dogs tend to get very used to a specific routine and it can create stress for them, which leads to possible behavior issues, when their routine is varied. It is also important for their mental and physical well-being to socialize with their furry pack members and have exercise and play time. If your dog is absent for an extended period of time, we may ask to perform a new behavior assessment.

Playful Pups Retreat reserves the right to turn away any dog we feel to be unsuitable for our daycare environment.

All packages must be paid for in advance. Fun Plans and Play Plans are valid for 90 days from date of purchase. VIP Plans are valid for 120 days from date of purchase. All packages are non-refundable and non-transferable. Half Day daycare is offered during morning hours only.
